It’s been awhile since I posted a blog. I have been busy going from training mode for my competitions this year to training my clients, being a mother, doing household and yardwork tasks, camping and spending time with family & friends…
My success this year can only be described in a phrase I kept rehearsing to myself over and over while getting near the end of my journey. “This is my Year of Glorification!” It so happens that this is my in-laws message this year for their church, how ironic. I have been blessed in so many ways, and where to start is the question.
First off, choosing to compete in the sport of bodybuilding is VERY rewarding but also VERY tough!! It’s not for everyone but my passion over the years for working out, eating healthy and becoming a better version of myself trumps the outcome everytime!!
Now when I set my goals at the beginning of the year I planned on competing in 2 shows;
SABBA Provincials in Saskatoon on May 23rd – 4th Place
INBF Canada National Natural Championships in Calgary on May 3oth – 3rd Place
Each show getting leaner and tighter! I had in the back of my mind to compete at the next show June 20th in Winnipeg…. I discussed it with my hubby for a few days and I figured I am 3 weeks out and I want to give it another shot! Mind over matter it was and I pushed to the end with the support of my family, clients, coach Leah Berti, IFBB Pro, fellow Mettle PTC coaches, fans and supporters!!
Well the time had come and the night show on June 20th was something I was not 100% sure was going to happen or expected but I WON!!!! When they called my name, I had a HUGE SMILE and a fist pump that I WON!!! Being a natural athlete and winning in a drug free organization was a HUGE deal to me…. It still is sinking in but I am so grateful for the way my whole journey unfolded and came together, I knew it was meant to be and my Glory is higher than my well being!
Next competition will be on October 24th in Edmonton where I will be competing as a (World Natural Bodybuilding Federation) WNBF Pro – Ms.Fit Body to establish my pro status and continuing on my fitness journey to INSPIRE others!
